At Coquitlam Public Library, we pride ourselves on being a cornerstone of our community, offering a diverse range of programs and services that cater to all ages and backgrounds. From early literacy initiatives for children to technology resources for entrepreneurs, and support for newcomers learning English, our goal is to empower and connect individuals throughout Coquitlam. Every week we are reminded what a wonderful community we get to be a part of through heartfelt messages passed to us by patrons.

One such message came from a parent who has been attending Korean story times. Getting in touch with librarian Chris Miller, a mother inquired about the lyrics to her son’s favourite song from our weekly Korean Story Time. Chris contacted Young Ae Kim, our Korean story time performer, who sent a pre-recorded video of herself performing it. Mother and son are from a family of mixed cultural heritage and are learning Korean together and at the Library. They were thrilled to be able to brush up on their singing through Young Ae’s video:

“Thank you so much, Young Ae and Chris! This is the song! Ollie is so happy ☺☺. Thank you for the songs and Story time, they are so helpful for him (and me) to learn Korean!”

Your support during Library Giving Day can make a significant impact. Donations help us expand our collections, introduce new technology, and enhance our outreach efforts. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in sustaining and growing the services we offer.
