New Lendable Tech

A little blue robot car with text that says Sphero Indi and a TV-shaped white and orange device with text that says Yoto Player.

We’re thrilled to announce that starting March 17th, our Library will launch two brand-new lendable technologies: the Sphero Indi and the Yoto Player. These gadgets are designed to inspire a love of learning, creativity, and exploration—perfect for curious minds of all ages. You can try out a demo at our Discovery Lab, and place a hold prior to their debuts. Read on for more information about each device.

Meet the Sphero Indi

The Sphero Indi is a durable, kid-friendly robot car that introduces young learners (typically ages 4 and up) to basic coding, problem-solving, and STEM concepts. With its colorful silicone tiles and engaging challenge cards, kids can learn how to guide Indi through mazes and complete fun challenges—all while building foundational programming and critical-thinking skills. Indi is available on a two-week loan, and is part of our fines-free collection.

Discover the Yoto Player

The Yoto Player is a screen-free audio device designed especially for children. It allows kids to explore stories, music, and educational content without needing a tablet or phone, fostering a love of listening and independent play. We’ll have two types of Yoto kits available: the Preschool-Age Kit, and the School-Age Kit. Both kits come with more than 20 age-appropriate audio cards, can be checked out for up to two weeks, and are fines-free.
