3D Printing Appointments Now Available

3D Printer
Updated March 13, 2024: 3D printing service has been discontinued. The service may be reintroduced at a later date.

The Innovation Hub at City Centre branch that houses the Library’s 3D printers have now reopened. For anyone unfamiliar with the process, 3D printing technology lets people bring ideas to life. Objects from toys to tools can be made three dimensional from just a digital file.

People interested in experiencing 3D printing can book an appointment to try two different types of 3D printers - the Lulzbot Taz Workhorse and the Tinkerine Ditto Pro. A booking also comes with access to a computer design workstation with high capacity graphics card and Rhinoceros 3D computer assisted drawing software.

Even without a 3D design background, individuals can experience 3D printing by downloading a pre-made design online and running it through the 3D printer. Step-by-step instructions are available in the Innovation Hub to guide users through the process.

For more information about 3D printing, how to book an appointment and how to get started, visit our 3D printing webpage.
