This Canada Day, we’re celebrating Canada's diversity by launching a new collection of World Language titles on Libby!
The World Languages collection is made up of eBooks and eAudiobooks for adults in French, Chinese, Korean, Persian, Spanish, and Ukrainian. Titles will include original works in each language and may include some translations of popular English works, depending on availability.
On the OverDrive website, you can browse the collection by:
- Tapping on the World Languages heading near the top of the page.
- Exploring with filters by clicking Search and then Advanced, and selecting the language you want to browse under Languages.
On the Libby app, you can browse the collection by:
- Scrolling down to Guides and selecting the World Languages guide.
- Exploring with filters by going to Search, tapping on the menu icon under Explore with filters, and selecting a language under the Languages heading.
While developing the collection, we considered demographics, community input, and availability of titles.
You can help us add to the collection by using Notify Me tags and deep search on Libby to suggest titles in other languages for purchase. Learn more about how to set up a Notify Me tag by watching a video tutorial.
Material in other languages is also available in print (for all ages) at both the City Centre and Poirier branches. Look for the World Languages section next time you're visiting the library!
