For the second year in a row, Coquitlam Public Library is inviting people to write a holiday greeting or create an art project to be distributed to seniors in our community during the upcoming holiday season.
In 2020, we were amazed with the overwhelming response we received from the community. We received over 2,500 unique “Hellos” including letters, cards, and art projects. We had a large number of local elementary schools that contributed cards, but we also heard from adults who wanted to contribute to this project. In fact, we had a group of individuals who hand-made over 70 potholders.
This project appealed to a wide variety of individuals, which warmed our hearts and those of the many seniors to whom we delivered these packages to. We delivered packages to several senior-living residences and care centres, as well as all of our customers who are part of our home delivery service. In addition, we provided 120 care-packages to the people who utilized the City of Coquitlam Meals for Seniors service. Watch our 2020 wrap-up video.
Based on its success, we had determined early on that we wanted to repeat it. Help make this program a success for another year in a row. Details of this year's initiative can be found on our
Holiday Hellos webpage. You’ll be making lots of seniors happy in the community!
