Coquitlam Public Library has joined other Tri-Cities civic facilities in a campaign to improve access to menstrual products.
The Library has installed wall-mounted dispensers with free tampons and pads in the women’s and universal washrooms at its City Centre and Poirier branches.
This initiative ensures that people who menstruate have easy access to pads and tampons when they are needed.
The Library is aware that people occasionally find themselves in need of menstrual products while they are away from home. They may be surprised by an early period, or they may discover that their menstrual products supply is out. Or, they may not have coins for a vending machine.
Having access to free pads and tampons in civic facilities allows people to pick up the supplies they need conveniently and discreetly.
Coquitlam Public Library strives to respond to the community’s needs and to be a welcoming and inclusive space.
The City Centre branch is located at 1169 Pinetree Way and the Poirier branch is at 575 Poirier Street. Contact the Library by phone at 604-554-7323 or email
