Fraser River Literary Festival
A week of stories, ideas, and community.
Welcome to the Fraser River Literary Festival
The inaugural Fraser River Literary Festival (née Tri-City Writers Fest) is a partnership between Coquitlam Public Library and New Westminster Public Library. This event is a celebration of writers and readers. It spans multiple days, across various locations, and deals with topics germane to the art of writing. Our special guests are all accomplished writers, and will lend their expertise to our panels.
Speaking of panels, check out the events below, and choose the ones that interest you. We've gone to great lengths to curate topics and talks that will appeal to discerning readers of all kinds, along the Fraser River.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (Hunquminum) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The Coquitlam Public Library is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional, ancestral and unceded lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓ əy ̓ (Katzie), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
Fraser River Literary Festival organizers recognize and respect that New Westminster is on the unceded and unsurrendered land of the Halkomelem-speaking peoples. We acknowledge that colonialism has made invisible their histories and connections to the land. As cultural programmers, we are learning and building relationships with the people whose lands we are on.
