Reading Buddies
Teens help kids practice reading in a safe and fun environment. In-person meetings are offered at the Poirier and the City Centre branches.
Poirier Sessions | Nancy Bennett
Tuesdays, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Runs: Jul. 9 - Aug. 20
City Centre Sessions | Rooms 136 & 137
Thursdays, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Runs: Jul. 18 - Aug. 29
Little Buddies
- Must be in grades 1-4*
- You will be notified that your child has been accepted or placed on a wait list
- Parents of Little Buddies must remain in the Library during each session
*During the summer session, we are happy to accept kids who have finished Kindergarten or Grade 4.
Buddy applications will open in May, 2024.
Teen Volunteers
- Must be at least 14 years old and in grades 9-12*
- Volunteer hours count towards community service hours
- New volunteers are required to undergo a criminal record check at the Coquitlam RCMP detachment
*During the summer session, we are happy to accept students who have finished Grade 8 or Grade 12.
Teen volunteer applications will open in May 2024.
