Pirate Trivia Night 2019

The Friends of the Coquitlam Public Library annual Trivia Night was a huge success. The event was pirate-themed and was emceed by our very own Mayor Richard Stewart. Event proceeds went towards tech for families. 

About Us

The Friends of the Coquitlam Public Library Society is a group of volunteers who advocate on behalf of the Library and its users and help improve Library services. 
For over 15 years, the Friends have raised funds that have gone towards various programs and equipment including:

  • Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) services  (2014)
  • 3D printer for the Innovation Hub (2014)
  • Victor Readers for the visually impaired  (2014)
  • Friends’ "Books for Babies" program (new books for new moms) (various years)
  • ESL learning tools for new immigrants, including a tutoring program (2016)
  • Book club sets (various years)
  • STEM programming for children  (2018)
  • Summer Reading Club materials (various years)
  • The Library Link and equipment for it (2015 & 2017) 


The Friends meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month (except July, August and December), at 10:15 am at the City Centre Branch.  For details of the next meeting, contact:  friendsofcpl@coqlibrary.ca.

The Friends of the Coquitlam Public Library Society donated over $10,000 in the 2014-2015 fiscal year to the Coquitlam Public Library to support literacy in our community. Some highlights include support for the Library Link and an ESL tutor training program for community volunteers.
