  • Brian and his wife have resided in Coquitlam since 1978

  • Owned a major food import and distribution company headquartered in Coquitlam for more than 25 years 
  • Sits on the Board of the Firehall Arts Centre as well as being its Treasurer 
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and a post graduate degree in Accounting from the University of British Columbia 
  • Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC since 1976 
  • Chief Financial Officer J.S McMillan Fisheries Ltd , one of BC’s oldest integrated fishing companies

Julie Fisher, Trustee


  • Associate Counsel/Lawyer with Drysdale Bacon McStravick LLP, Coquitlam Office 
  • Bachelor of Arts, First Class (Psychology), 1991 and LL.B. 1995 from the University of Victoria 
  • Called to the BC Bar 1996, currently practicing personal injury, estate litigation, and disability benefit claims  
  • Community contributions include past Director Coquitlam Foundation, TriCity Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee, CBA BC Women Lawyers Forum 
  • Enjoys hiking local trails, historical and popular fiction, and CBC radio 
  • Lives in Coquitlam (since 2001) with her husband, one son, one niece, and a Wheaton Terrier

 Board Meetings

The Coquitlam Public Library Board meets 9 times per year on the 4th Wednesday of the month. The Board does not meet in the months of March, August and December. Regular Board Meetings are open to the public. If you are interested in attending as an observer, please call (604) 937-4130 to confirm the meeting date, time and location.

Presentations to the Board

Policy: Groups and/or individuals wishing to address the Board shall contact the Executive Director not less than five days prior to the scheduled meeting date of the Board meeting for inclusion in the regular meeting agenda.

Procedure: Requests will be in writing and include who will be attending, the organization they represent, if any, the subject matter of the presentation, and the meeting date they wish to make their presentation. Presentations shall not be longer than 15 minutes. The Board Chair has final authority on whether to allow a presentation, the time allotted, and the time given to questions from Trustees, if any.
